50. Contemplation and gratitude
'AU'Xiliary Arcana

5This person is happily contemplating gratitude under a tree - Gratitude is far more than a polite gesture. When it comes sincerely from the heart and is expressed aloud, it becomes part of the creative process, helping to keep the door to abundance open. Appreciation activates powerful feel-good chemicals in the brain, including serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin. In this way, gratitude not only lifts the mood but also reshapes neural pathways, encouraging a more positive outlook, greater inner balance, and healthier relationships with others.
At a deeper level, gratitude reflects equality, humility, and higher ideals. A genuine attitude of gratitude does not arise from ego, entitlement, or privilege. Instead, it recognises the value in everyone and everything without placing the self above others. It honours the sacredness of all life and holds greatness and humility together: the awareness that you may carry creative, divine potential while remaining grounded enough to be as small as a crumb on the floor. This openness allows the creative process to flow more freely and aligns you more fully with the Earth’s greater plan to serve humanity.
Gratitude becomes especially meaningful during adversity. When challenges arise, there is power in deliberately reframing them and choosing a more hopeful perspective. This reflects the universal law of relativity: circumstances themselves are neutral, and it is our perception that gives them meaning. From this viewpoint, every experience contains the possibility of benefit. The lessons, insights, and growth that emerge from hardship can become essential steps on the path toward mastery and ascension. These lessons are universal and often return in different forms until they are understood.
Power prompts: Practical expression matters too. Verbalise your appreciation of others and help them feel seen, valued, and respected.
Can you acknowledge difficulty without overlooking the good that still exists?
Where might you be receiving support that you have not yet fully recognised?
Are you comparing your journey with others, or can you honour your own progress?
What simple moment today invites you to pause, breathe, and feel present?
How can gratitude deepen your humility without diminishing your own achievements?
What would change if you focused on what is sufficient rather than what is missing?
Affirmation: I AM grateful for everything in my life that supports abundance. I AM also grateful to be in service to the whole and for my experiences that have helped me develop resilience, gratitude, and empathy! Thank you!
